Happy Thanksgiving,

October CAL – Pumpkin Jar Cozy

2 pumpkin jar cozy 027

Come join Thomasina Cummings Designs and myself at DC2TOG on Ravelry for the October CAL! This month I had a ton of fun making the pattern Pumpkin Jar Cozy for a pint sized canning jar. I have given tons away as gifts already because they work up so quickly. I’ve thrown in autumn colored candies to the jar but you could also put in candles, hot chocolate mix, cookies, or other baking mixes made for a jar. I hope you have fun working up this free pattern for the month! Remember to drop by the thread at DC2TOG and post your pictures so we can see your awesome projects!

Materials Needed
50 yards Worsted Weight Yarn (Medium #4) in orange and scraps of green
I Hook (5.5mm)
Ruler/Measuring Tape
Tapestry Needle
Stitch Marker

September CAL – Tunisian Spiral Potholder

tunisian pot holder 3

Thomasina Cummings Designs wrote this month’s pattern as a continuation of last month’s Tunisian theme. I finished my Tunisian Spiral Potholder last weekend and love how the variegated yarn worked with this pattern. It looks great with single colored yarn too! I ended up only needing 6 sections (instead of 7) and kept it at a single layer as I felt it was pretty dense with the hook size I used. The pattern was fast, easy, and fun!

Don’t miss out on this free pattern and the CAL!

I just sent out the pattern for the October CAL to my testers! Come join us at DC2TOG next month for another fun, free, festive, and fast pattern!

Mini Pet Loveys Fundraiser

These mini loveys are on 6″ blankets that are perfect for those tiny babies to hold and snuggle with. They also make a perfect stash buster and charity project as well! These mini loveys work up super quick. Each lovey uses less than 50 yards of yarn. These are a perfect alternative to making a regular size lovey if you do not have the time.
Proceeds of this pattern will be donated to Saving Our Steve, a fundraiser for a close friend suffering from severe chronic GVHD (Graft-Versus-Host Disease) after his battle with Leukemia five years ago. He has recently been hospitalized and will need to see a specialist. You can purchase the pattern and help save Steve at Ravelry, Craftsy, and Etsy.
Materials Needed
Worsted Weight Yarn in two colors per lovey
I hook (5.5mm)
F hook (3.75mm)
Tapestry Needle
Stitch Marker

Foxy Fox Lovey

Have you seen the latest Bowtykes lovey?! I had a lot of fun designing a fox to start out the forest lovey set. The blanket turned out just the way I wanted – full of a fun texture using post stitches that I use for all my fox designs. I hope you have fun with the new pattern!

The Foxy Fox Lovey can be purchased at Ravelry, Craftsy, and Etsy.

This fox lovey uses post stitches to create a fun blanket full of texture perfect for a fur coat.

Also known as a security blanket or lovie, a lovey is a fun way to crochet a toy and a blanket all in one.

Materials Needed:
325 yards Worsted Weight Yarn in orange (or gray), white, and black
crochet hook I (5.5mm)
crochet hook G (4.0-4.5mm)
tapestry needle
stitch marker

Yarn weight and gauge is not extremely important, just make sure you are using an appropriate hook size for your yarn of choice. An I hook with worsted weight should give you about an 18” blanket. DK weight also works well with this pattern (adjust hooks as necessary).

NOTE: The post stitches in the blanket could make this pattern challenging for a beginner crocheter. A stitch chart has been included to help those who are having trouble with the blanket.

Tunisian Simple Stitch Tutorial and CAL

0112Come join Thomasina Cummings and me for our monthly CAL over at DC2TOG at Raverly.

This month I provided the CAL and had fun writing up my first Tunisian pattern with a tutorial to go along with it. It’s super simple and easy and has so many personalization possibilities. Once you work up the size you want, you can design your own cross-stitch chart to embroider onto your project. My testers had lots of fun coming up with their own charts and the endless possibilities that the pattern can be!

You can find the pattern for FREE at Ravelry – Cross Stitch Tunisian Potholder
